Apache Junction sits at the eastern edge of the metro against the Superstition foothills, and its properties tend to be older and larger than the subdivisions further in. A lot of irrigation here was installed piecemeal rather than as a single builder package — a zone added when a bed went in, another when someone put in citrus, all of it accumulating over decades without a single coherent plan.
